On Discharge
After your operation, it is essential that you have a responsible adult to accompany you home and stay with you for 24 hours. The nursing staff will ensure that you have post-operative instructions provided by your surgeon and his/her contact details. The day after your surgery your surgeon’s administrative staff will call and arrange your first post-operative appointment.
The nursing staff will also be phoning you a few days post operatively to enquire about your recovery.
In the event of an emergency, you are advised to go to your nearest Emergency Department. Always contact your surgeon in this instance with your intention.
